We research the stuff, so you don't buy the wrong stuff.
We find what's trending. Then we do the boring part and tell you
whether it's actually worth your money.
Because spotting a trend is easy. Working out which of those things is genuinely good, which is
fine, and which is a magical pooping flamingo, that takes a bit longer. We're a small team of real editors.
We research, we review, and when it matters we buy the thing ourselves and live with it for a week.
How we got here
2006
We start as IBBBA pop culture and review blog, back when
that was a perfectly reasonable thing to start.
2014
The first rebrandWe narrowed in on what people actually
came for: product reviews and genuinely fun stuff.
2022
Trendsicle arrivesWe hired a small, nimble staff and took
the name that finally matched the job.

75% researched in depth
Roughly 1 in 4 products we recommend, we've had in our own hands.

Our three promises
We never take a freebie for a good review
Ever. And trust us, we get pitched a lot. About 99% of what we test, we bought ourselves.
Not everything gets a glowing write-up
If we live with something for a week and it's mediocre, we say so. That's the whole point of testing it.
We tell you when we got it wrong
We miss maybe 5% of the time. We'd rather own it than quietly delete the page.
Exhibit A 🦃
We once swore blind that a magical pooping flamingo would be the toy of the year. It wasn't the toy of the year. It wasn't the toy of any year. That's a mistake you only make once.
Here's exactly what happens before we recommend anything
Most about pages say they're rigorous. Ours shows the timesheet.
1
Research
We start with the trend, not the product. Editors read customer reviews by the thousand, go down
comment-section rabbit holes, and cross-reference what's genuinely selling across 2,000+ retailers.
2
Review
We narrow to a shortlist and dig into specs, pricing history, and what owners say six months in rather
than six days in.
3
TestHands-on
For Trendy AF and Is It Worth It, we buy it ourselves and use it at home for a full week. Some things don't survive the week.
4
Update
Guides get revisited at least four times a year, because prices move and products get discontinued without telling anyone.

And yes, we use tools
We're real people, NOT robots! We have feelings too. But we're humble enough to admit we lean on a few
proprietary trend tools to spot what's bubbling up early. Infuser machines, the HyperChiller, the
Theragun, that entire posture-corrector craze. We caught those because we were looking.
The small but mighty team
Real editors, real names, real opinions. We mention this only because it's apparently now
worth mentioning.
Everything above is a claim. Here's the arithmetic behind it.

Ads on this site
We don't run them. They're annoying, they slow the page down, and we're fairly certain you hate them as
much as we do. We'd rather earn our keep another way.
So how do we make money?
Short version: instead of ads, we use affiliate links. If you buy something
through one, we may earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra.
What it doesn't do is change what we recommend. We never accept a product in exchange
for a favorable review, we buy about 99% of what we test ourselves, and a brand paying us has never once
moved something onto a list. If a product is mediocre, we say it's mediocre.
