Curious to discover what Oprah’s favorite mattress is? We were too and were actually a bit surprised by whom she named as one of her official “Favorite Things.”
We all know that basically whatever touches turns to gold and when she names her must-haves each holiday season, most would be surprised to know some of her faves aren’t necessarily the most expensive.
When it comes to things like bed sheets and comfy pajamas, and even her favorite foods to gift, one thing we learned about Oprah is that she likes to stay as cool as possible – temperature-wise at least. So when it comes to her favorite mattress it was no surprise that she wanted something to help keep her cool while she slept. However, what we were surprised by was how affordable her favorite mattress actually is.
Back in 2016, Oprah named the Cocoon Mattress by Sealy as one of her Favorite Things (officially). We’ve seen some of the editors of her magazine and website name additional mattresses as some of “the best” but the one that Oprah chose specifically was the Cocoon. And starting out at only $769 (it’s actually marked down to $499 at the time of publication) it’s surprisingly affordable too!
Outside of the price, we were a bit surprise that O didn’t choose one of the other popular “bed in a box” mattresses like Casper or even an unboxed/made-to-order brand like Saatva. Alas, Cocoon by Sealy was the one that she chose and is still highly reviewed and recommended by mattress experts to this day
There are actually two different Cocoon’s to choose from. The Chill Memory Foam Mattress and the Chill Hybrid Mattress.
Some benefits of the Chill Memory Foam include:
- 10-inch memory foam and still conforms to your body.
- The cooling cover helps keep you cooler throughout the night by absorbing and dissipating heat.
- You get a 100 night free sleep trial.
- 10 year warranty.
- Totally free shipping (which can help a lot!)
Right now you can get 2 free pillows and a set of sheets for free as well!
The Cocoon Hybrid has all the same features as the Chill Memory Foam, except it’s 12-inches (instead of 10-inches) and features both memory foam and springs for those who want a bit of a more traditional feel.
