There are plenty of ways to workout at home and after I was gifted the new Hydrow Rowing Machine I’m not quite sure there’s a reason to ever go back to the gym again. And while it can be a bit pricey (within reason) they do have some promo incentives to help you save a bit on your purchase. Read on!
My Personal Experience
If you’ve been following me around here for the past couple of years you know I’ve been basically boycotting the gym and turning my guest room into my own personal home gym. The bed is officially gone. It’s equipped with my favorite NordicTrack bike, Bowflex adjustable dumbbells, and now my very own Hydrow.
Now, full disclosure – I was actually gifted my Hydro by a family member as a house-warming gift. Yes, really. So I didn’t have to pay for it myself, which really took the pressure off me having to use it. But, spoiler alert – I actually want to use it.
What I really love about it is that there are more than 2,500 live classes to choose from that range anywhere from 5 minutes to 90 minutes. You may think that 5 minutes is odd but, trust me, it’s kind of hard. Meaning: It’s really an amazing workout and unlike anything I’ve done in the past. Plus, so many of the classes you’re taking part in on the screen is on the water so you actually feel like you’re there in one of the magical locations. Flick on some music and you’ll actually forget you’re rowing in your guest room.

Now, could I row every day? Honestly, no. At least not at first. But that’s mainly because I try to switch up all my workouts. So, going from my spin bike to free weights and now my Hydrow to the occasional walk keeps me focused, motivated, and I don’t get bored. The only real issue for me is that the machine itself is a bit on the larger side so I did have to shift things around in my “gym” to fit it better. And while many independent reviewers list the high-ish price as a “con” – again – I was gifted this so I can’t personally complain. Regardless, I would justify it by thinking that gym memberships are expensive and – well – with the past few years we all have we deserve this. Plus, it keeps my mind in check.
If you’re concerned about the price, there are a couple of ways to save-ish. I broke them all down below.
How I Saved
Ok, well I didn’t save – but there are some ways you can save. First off, if you’re wondering if Hydrow has promo codes the answer is that yes they do accept them on their own website. However, they don’t really give them out to other sites. If you’re looking for a coupon it’s going to need to come directly from them.
One of the best ways to stay in the promo loop with this is to sign-up for their emails. At least check, when I subscribed I was offered $300 off and even free shipping, which is valued at around $150. Please note, this promotion may not still be offered by the time you sign up, but still worth it to do so.
There’s also a pretty generous “Refer a Friend” offer where when you refer a friend they’ll actually get $250 off their first order and as a “thank you” you’ll receive a $250 Visa gift card once your friend officially makes their first purchase. You can check that offer out right here.
I put together a short little list which displays some of their current offerings and popular packages you should know about. I hope it helps make your decisions a bit easier. Happy rowing!
