We’re proud of the dozens of pairs of New Balance sneakers we currently own and our addition is not letting up this month.
Our Take:
We are guilty (not ashamed) of having over 25 different pairs of New Balance sneakers. And don’t even get us started with their collaborations with J. Crew. We work and live to basically just upgrade our sneakers pretty much every month. Even if you’re not as bad as we are, you certainly need new kicks each season and, potentially, even more if you’re a runner.
Since we’re actually an amateur runner (2 to 3 times per week) and suffer from pronation (embarrassing) we actually need special sneakers that help balance our feet out and make our runner easier and way more comfortable. We’ve tried the super expensive Brooks options but, honestly, our favorites have been our NBs. We actually have to upgrade our running shoes about every 6-8 months, depending on how often we run, and most of the time it’s quite the easy upgrade – we no longer even have to try them on!

Outside of running gear, we’re obsessed with their everyday sneakers too. Their colors usually standout, we’re always complimented on them, and they feel great too. We typically go for more of their retro look (yes, apparently the late 80s and early 90s are now considered ‘retro’). But if you think they only have sneakers, think again!
Some of their most popular merch consists of things like:
- Hats
- Workout and fitness gear
- Comfy socks
- Underwear
- Hoodies
- So. Much. More.
We feel the same way about New Balance as we do with our Vans obsession. If you haven’t check them out in a bit, give them a look now. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
The Deal With the Deals:
While they’re not always known for having giant sales events, you can usually find a pretty cool deal on some of their biggest sellers right on their site. Shopping online vs. in-store can be a whole different experience. Check out their current reduced prices here.
One deal that we’ve seen (and used) a lot lately is their free shipping offer. When you spend just $50 you’ll get free standard shipping. It’s kind of a no-brainer because you know you’ll totally spend that on your sneakers anyway. By the way, if you sign up for their rewards program, you can get free shipping all the time. Definitely worth checking it out here!
To Gift or Not to Gift:
It’s always a great idea to consider New Balance when it comes to unique gift ideas. And, don’t worry, if you’re afraid of picking out sneakers for someone else, there’s always other things you can pick out. And there’s always the tried-and-true gift card. Here are some quick examples of gift ideas we’re recommending to help you out.
- Children – Pick up extra socks because they’re always losing them. See it here
- Your Father – Go with any of these dad-approved sneakers – See it here
- Runners – Go with these best selling running shoes – See it here
The Deal With Promo Codes:
We researched this because we know how much you need to know this. New Balance doesn’t have promo codes or coupons, however. We don’t offer any of them here either. When you look on some other sites you may see exclusive codes but, uh, they didn’t work for us. Like, ever.
If you’re looking for a coupon-like offer they do have a few (sometimes) for select customers. We’ve seen a 15% discount code for students and if you sign up for their credit card you can take 20% off your order. For now, that’s going to be your best bet. Sorry we couldn’t bring you more promising news.
