As if TikTok couldn’t already be my true BFF, now their latest hashtag that’s blowing up is #SkinTok, which is basically all the must-try beauty and skincare products that are going viral.  Here are the ones worth noting.

Best TikTok Beauty Product Recommendations from SkinTok in May 2024

As if I couldn’t love my job any more than I already do, now I get to write about TikTok pretty much regularly.  #DreamJob.  And speaking of hashtags, one of the biggest and most viral hashtags on TikTok right now is #SkinTok – their beauty and skincare recommendations.

TikTok hashtags have basically become little micro-communities that are more powerful than anyone had ever thought.  For example, the SkinTok hashtag currently has more than 2.8 billion video views.  Can you even imagine that?  Since I’m a beauty lover and skincare aficionado (at least I like to think so), I think I’m responsible for at least 1 million of those views.

Here’s the deal, however, with so many beauty videos being uploaded all the time.  It’s hard to keep track of which beauty products are actually worth while and which are a hard pass.  Fresh off my BookTok TikTok book recommendations list (yes, that’s a major micro-community too), I’ve gone through hundreds of videos and chose the beauty must-haves that are actually worth it.  I’m keeping the list somewhat short to start, but will update this weekly (or monthly) and add new viral beauty essentials as they come up.

Ready to SkinTok your day away?  Let’s go!

1.  Rosemary Oil For New Hair Growth

We’ve covered, extensively, the trend around using rosemary oil for new hair growth.  Using just about 5 drops a day for 3 – 6 months and you can start to see new hair growth where it’s thinning or just gone.  It’s definitely not a cure-all, but many studies compare it to using minoxidil without the side effect.  It can also help with dandruff, dry scalp, and overall hair shine.

2.  The Hanacure All-in-1 Facial Set

Hanacure

Hanacure facial masks have been trending on Insta for a while, but they’ve been given new life thanks to TikTok.  This skin treatment basically gives you an instant facelift and smoothing in just 30 minutes.

You paint on the gel-like magical solution all over your face (it’s going to be cool and goopy) and 30 minutes later your pores have shrunk in appearance, your skin is so soft and so smooth, your fine lines and wrinkles seemed to have disappeared, and everything just looks high and tight.  A total miracle.  The most viral part is how insane you look while it’s drying.

Hanacure is a bit on the pricey side, but at times they do have some coupons you can use to get a little off the original price.

3.  The Cetaphil Sensitive Skin Face Wash

It’s one of the most recommended face washes by dermatologists of all time.  This is one that I personally use daily (twice per day) and I can say it’s been a real lifesaver for my dry and sensitive skin.  It almost feels like you’re not adding anything to your face, but it really does work to help get it clean, keep it moisturized, and feeling great – like a cheap spa treatment.

If you’re into their face wash, Cetaphil also has a great body wash for sensitive skin too.

4.  The Disco Eye Stick

Disco Eye Stick

While anyone can use the now famous Disco Eye Stick, it’s geared a bit more towards guys.  All you have to do is rub it lightly under your eyes and it helps to reduce dark circles under your eyes, puffiness, and some fine lines and wrinkles.  It even helps to brighten up your skin too.

It uses caffeine, antioxidants, and vitamin B3 – all these things combine to help you look way less tried or even less hungover because, hey, it happens!  And if you want to save a little, they’re offering an extra 10% off your order with their coupon code.

5.  Pro Glow Self-Tanning Water Spray Kit

This one is a true see it to believe it.  There are so many sunless tanner brands out there, but one of the most viral is the Pro Glow Water Spray Tan Kit from Isle of Paradise.  This water spray will help you achieve the level of tan you’re looking for without turning orange, looking streaky, or looking blotchy.  You can even purchase refill packs at different desired color levels.  I started with the least noticeable until I knew how it would look on my skin and was pleasantly surprised.

6.  The CeraVe Moisturizing Face + Body Cream

I don’t love having to spend my entire paycheck on moisturizers, but at the same time I don’t want to put just anything on my face.  Not only has this brand racked up more than 1 billion views, but it’s a drugstore brand that’s totally affordable and really works.  It’s one of the best drugstore moisturizers that I’ve ever used and it keeps my super dry skin hydrated and looking and feeling great.  When you buy the bigger sized tub you can also slather it all over your body because your skin everywhere could use some love too.

This is the exfoliating peel for those have used these kind of peels before.  It really should only be used no more than once per week and, depending on your skin-type, maybe even less than that!  The Ordinary helps to unclog pores, reduce dullness, and other issues your face may go through.  It can even help with tightening your skin and be used as an anti-aging treatment.

9.  The Shampoo Scalp Brush
