Overall, we typically see the best sales taking place right after the 1st of the year because that’s when most people are motivated to redo their lives, redecorate their homes, live healthier, and sleep better! But, if you don’t want to wait for that once-a-year New Year’s resolution to get that mattress or bedding upgrade, you’re in luck especially thanks to the Presidents Day sale event!

Some of the top sleep experts say that you should replace your mattress every 6 – 8 years. We feel like we’ve had ours for about 15! But when’s really the best time to shop for and buy the bed of your dreams? Well, recent data from the experts at Consumer Reports suggests that the months of February – May are ideally the best time to snag that bed you’ve been eyeing lately. However, isn’t the best time really when, you know, you actually need one?

THE BEST TIMES OF YEAR TO BUY A MATTRESS

Getting a good night’s sleep is essential for a healthy and happy life, and a comfortable mattress plays a vital role in achieving that. However, purchasing a new mattress can totally break the bank. Luckily, many retailers offer sales and discounts throughout the year to make the buying process easier on your wallet that’s already busting at the seams. These are some of the best times of the year to get a mattress on sale.

NEW YEARS

I’ve typically found New Years being one of the best times of the year to score the best deal. A lot of times mattress brands and retailers combine this with the health and wellness trends most of us are starting on Jan 1st. On average, you can save between 30% – 55% off top brands.

BLACK FRIDAY / CYBER MONDAY

The second biggest time of the year to save on just about any of your bedding needs (and everything else) is Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I’ve seen an average mattress savings of 25% – 50% off. But what sweetens the pot is many retailers will provide free gifts (like sheets, pillows, comforters, etc) with your mattress purchase.

MEMORIAL DAY

Memorial Day is one of the biggest holidays for so many retailers. It marks the beginning of the summer season and is an ideal time for mattress brands and retailers to clear out their inventory. As a result, many mattress brands offer discounts during this time ranging from 25% – 40% off, at a minimum.

FOURTH OF JULY

The Fourth of July is another big deal and many retailers offer discounts on their mattresses during this time. Like Memorial Day, the Fourth of July is a good time to buy a mattress as many retailers offer discounts of up to 50% off original pricing. Typically these are similar to those offered during Memorial Day.

LABOR DAY

Labor Day is celebrated on the first Monday of September and it’s the unofficial end of summer, so many retailers are clearing out old inventory and slashing prices on some of the top sellers ranging anywhere from 10% – 40% off.

END OF YEAR

Typically the week after Christmas is when you can get a great sale price on that mattress you’ve been eyeing for a while. This is usually the final time brands are clearing out the final inventory to make room for their New Years promotions. I’ve seen an average of an extra 30% off.
