The Anniversary Sale runs backwards
Every other sale on this page clears out old stock. The Anniversary Sale discounts brand new fall arrivals that have never been sold at full price, and on the day it ends those prices go up and stay up. So the usual instinct, wait a bit and it'll get cheaper, is exactly wrong here. It's the only Nordstrom event where hesitating on the last day costs you money, and it's the only one gated by membership tier.

Every window, in the order it arrives
Bar width shows how deep the discounting goes, not how much stock is involved. confirmed means Nordstrom published the dates. expected means it's a recurring event whose dates move by a few days. projected means we're reading the pattern forward into next year.

Four things that change what you pay
Four days is the whole game
Icon shoppers get in on July 14 and the public on July 18. The most wanted sizes and the limited beauty sets are routinely gone before the public window opens, and Nordstrom doesn't always restock them. If you shop Anniversary seriously, the card pays for itself in access rather than in points.
The extra 25% stacks on clearance
It comes off an already reduced clearance price, not off the original ticket. That's why a $200 coat sitting at 60% off clearance lands near $60 during Clear the Rack rather than the $150 a straight 25% would give you. It runs roughly six times a year and Nordy Club members get in a day early.
The winter one beats the summer one
Both run up to 60% off, but the December event clears coats, boots and holiday dresses at the moment the season still has two full months left to run. The May event clears spring stock into summer, when you've got less time to wear it.
Anniversary stock is full price in ten days
If you're on the fence about an Anniversary item, buying it and returning it later costs you nothing but a trip, and waiting costs you the difference between the sale price and the regular one. That's the opposite of how to play every other sale here.
