Review: Is the YETI Rambler Beverage Bucket Worth It 2024

I’ve personally reviewed a bunch of different products from YETI, from their Slim Colster to their waterproof blanket for camping, their newest color selection, sales and just about everything in between.

So, I was psyched when I caught wind that they were releasing their official YETI Rambler Beverage Bucket.  Giving it an honest review is something we do around here all the time, so let’s dive in to see  exactly what you get out of the Beverage Ice Bucket, how many beers (or bottles of wine) it can hold, how long it’ll keep your drinks cold for, and if it’s really worth the price.  Let’s dive in.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN ABOUT

WHAT THE YETI RAMBLER BUCKET IS ALL ABOUT

While YETI isn’t, themselves, calling their Beverage Bucket an “ice bucket” a lot of folks online are calling it that.  While it does hold ice, of course, it’s so much more than that.

Similar to their drinkware Rambler line, this Beverage Bucket is also heavy duty, durable, and is made with double-wall vacuum insulation that’ll help keep your beers (and other drinks) nice and cold for hours on end.

This bucket is geared more towards heading out to a friends house and you want to keep your own beverages ice cold for as long as possible without having to lug an entire cooler around.  It can hold, on average, 6 regular cans of beer (or soda, seltzer, etc) or 3 standard size bottles of your favorite wine.

The bottom of the beverage bucket has a nice round “no-slip” ring that’ll keep your bucket in place when you place down and won’t mark up anything it’s on.  The handle is really sturdy, durable, and comfortable to hold while you carry it around.

What makes this one different from some others on the market is the honeycomb lid that comes with it.  When securely place on the bucket it’ll help keep your ice and drinks colder for much longer.  The only issue is that when you’re carrying around bottles of wine it’ll be hard to keep the lid on at all.  I find it works much easier with cans or smaller bottles.

BY THE NUMBERS (SPECS)

Personally, I find knowing more about the specs to be really important when deciding if you want to actually buy it.  Sometimes pictures alone don’t do it justice.  So here are some of the most important numbers, stats, and specs I want to share.

THE PROS & CONS

I always find pros and cons to be really subjective based on your own experience, so I want to give a few of my personal pros and cons based on my interaction with the YETI Beverage Bucket.  Hopefully it helps you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

WHAT I LOVE

  • It’s perfect to hold up to 6 beers or 3 bottles of wine.
  • The lid helps keep things colder for longer than ever before.
  • The handle is comfortable enough to carry around, especially when it gets a bit heavy.
  • It’s fun to bring to parties when you just want to bring enough beverages for yourself.

JUST A HEADS-UP

  • Definitely on the expensive side ($150).
  • If you want the ice scooper, it’s sold separately and is $50 (also expensive).
  • Right now there are only 3 colors to choose from and 1 limited edition color.
  • I find that 2 wine bottles seem to fit much better than trying to cram in the 3rd.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Now comes the time to decide if I really think it’s worth the money.  I have to be honest, I really do like it.  I’ve already brought it over to my neighbors yard last weekend and was actually able to easily fit 6 of my favorite seasonal beers (21st Amendment: Hell or High Watermelon) and the ice.  I didn’t bring the lid with me because they have a lot of shade in their yard and I knew I wasn’t staying all afternoon.

I found it comfortable to carry, it looked really cool next to everyone else’s coolers and bags, and did keep my beers cold the entire time I was there.  The ice melted slightly, but it was pretty hot out.  It wasn’t a huge deal for me though.

I wish for the price it at least came with the ice scooper or that it was priced at only $100.  It’s the $150 that’s the killer for me.  Maybe it’ll come down in price in the future, who knows?!

If you have the extra cash, I think it is worth it – especially if you don’t want to fill an entire heavy cooler with a ton of drinks, ice, and lug it over to your friends home.  If you have one of YETI’s cooler bags, you may not need this one, but I do find it easier, lighter, and more fun to use than some of their heavier and bigger coolers.

So, go for it if you can.  And, remember, you can get an extra 20% off coupon if you happen to fall into their everyday heroes category.
