Hatchin' Yoshi's an interactive electronic toy from Spin Master, released alongside The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. It shows up as a sealed egg on a little stand, and the whole selling point is that you don't open it. It opens itself.
If you lived through Hatchimals in 2016, you already know the shape of this one. Spin Master makes both, and this is that same idea wearing the most valuable character license in gaming.
Hatched, he's about 5.9 inches tall and runs on 3 AA batteries. Amazon's listing includes them, which is a small thing that matters enormously at 7am on Christmas morning.
