No, LEGO didn't make a Harry Potter advent calendar for 2026. They announced five calendars this year, and Harry Potter isn't one of them after seven straight years. The good news is better than you'd expect: last year's version is still buyable, and it's currently going for less than it cost new.
Every autumn for seven years there's been a LEGO Harry Potter advent calendar. You could set your watch by it. So when LEGO revealed the 2026 lineup and it wasn't there, a lot of people assumed they'd missed an announcement somewhere.
They didn't. It's genuinely not happening this year. Here's what LEGO made instead, how to still get the Harry Potter one, and why the obvious explanation for its disappearance probably isn't the right one.
Seven Years, Then Nothing
LEGO made a Harry Potter advent calendar every single year from 2019 through 2025. Then it stopped.
The 2026 lineup is five calendars, all out September 1: Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, City and Friends. Minecraft got dropped too, after just one year. Harry Potter had the longest unbroken run of any licensed theme, which is what makes it the conspicuous absence rather than just a gap.
You Can Still Buy Last Year's
This is the part most people don't check, and it's the best answer for almost everybody reading this. The 2025 calendar, set 76456, is still available new, and cheaper than its original price.

Set 76456 has 278 pieces and eight minifigures, all in Hogwarts Christmas sweaters: Harry, Cho Chang, Draco Malfoy, Hannah Abbott, Angelina Johnson, Luna Lovegood, Blaise Zabini and Cedric Diggory. There are also six brick-built creatures including Hedwig, Buckbeak, Aragog and a stag Patronus.
Being honest about it, LEGO fans weren't thrilled with this one. It sits at 3.2 out of 5 on Brickset across 34 ratings, with the recurring complaint that it leaned too hard on minifigures instead of varied builds. If you're buying it for a seven year old who wants to open a door every morning, that criticism won't matter much. If you're a collector, it's worth knowing going in.

All five release September 1, 2026 and all are on pre-order at LEGO now. If your kid mainly wants a LEGO calendar rather than a Harry Potter one specifically, this is the straightforward answer.

If you're substituting, take this one. It's the same $44.99 the Harry Potter calendar was, it's built entirely around The Mandalorian, and it has four exclusive minifigures: Din Djarin in a sweater printed with Grogu's face, Moff Gideon in a TIE fighter jumper with the Darksaber on the back, a festive Grogu, and IG-11 using a brand new head mould. There's also a Razor Crest, an N-1 starfighter and a Sandcrawler among the mini builds.
If You Specifically Want Harry Potter
LEGO isn't the only company making these. If the point is Harry Potter rather than bricks, there are better answers this year than there have been in a while.

The Wizarding World one at $24.99 is the closest thing to a like-for-like swap. It's the same idea as the LEGO calendar, aimed at the same kid, at a lower price: 24 doors of mini figures and accessories rather than bricks. If a seven year old was expecting Harry Potter behind the doors, that's the one that delivers it.
- It has to be LEGO and it has to be Harry Potter. That's the only thing that satisfies both.
- You find it under $40, which is less than it cost new.
- The eight sweater minifigures are the appeal, because that's what this set is.
- You're fine with a 2025 box. Nobody opening it in December will notice.
- You're being asked $70 or more. It isn't rare, it's just last year's.
- Harry Potter matters more than LEGO. The $24.99 Wizarding World one is better value.
- LEGO matters more than Harry Potter. Take the Star Wars calendar.
- You want the builds to be interesting. Collectors rated this one 3.2 out of 5.
Why Did LEGO Drop It?
The tidy explanation going around is that it sold badly. That story is weaker than it looks.
What We Actually Know
The evidence for weak sales is real but circumstantial: the 2025 calendar got discounted 30% on LEGO's own site, down to $31.49, and hit similar reductions elsewhere. Across the whole 2025 range some calendars went as deep as half price. Enthusiasts also didn't love it, rating it 3.2 out of 5 and calling the designs lazy.
But here's the problem with that theory. In November 2025, Gizmodo reported that LEGO advent calendars were selling out weeks before December, and that the Harry Potter one specifically "was the first to disappear." A calendar that sells out first is a strange candidate for cancellation.
So both things are true: it was discounted, and it sold out. Those usually don't go together, and nobody outside LEGO has explained it. LEGO has made no statement at all about why Harry Potter isn't in the 2026 lineup. Anybody telling you they know why is guessing.
Worth adding one piece of context without over-reading it: the HBO Harry Potter series premieres at Christmas 2026, and LEGO is rumoured to be planning a substantial Harry Potter wave for early 2027. Whether those things are connected to the calendar's absence, nobody has said. It's a reasonable thing to wonder about and not a reason to expect anything.

The Bottom Line: There's no LEGO Harry Potter advent calendar this year, and that isn't a rumour, it's just the lineup. If it has to be that exact set, buy last year's 76456 while it's still going for under what it originally cost, and don't pay more than about $40 for it. If Harry Potter is the point, the $24.99 Wizarding World calendar does the job better and cheaper. If LEGO is the point, take the Star Wars one. And if somebody tells you they know why LEGO killed it, they don't.
